Two unlocked cars were entered while they were parked at their respective owners’ homes overnight between Oct. 6 and Oct. 7. In one instance, a Garmin GPS unit and $10 in cash were taken, but in the second incident, nothing was reported missing.
A Wegman’s loss prevention officer intercepted two men who were attempting to leave the grocery store with a shopping cart filled with beer at 1:58 p.m. Oct. 6. After a brief verbal exchange between the men and the loss prevention officer, the men abandoned the shopping cart and left the scene.
A 46-year-old West Windsor Township man reported that his identity was stolen and that the thief used it to open bank accounts in his name. He also received a notice from the Internal Revenue Service about a tax return that was filed. After contacting the banks and the IRS, he realized someone had used his personal information fraudulently. The frauds occurred between June 5 and Oct. 5.
Fernando Sanchez, 22, of North Brunswick, was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped by police on Route 1 north at Scudders Mill Road at 2:36 a.m. Oct. 4. Anna Watson, 22, of Plainsboro Township, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Clarksville Road at Princeton-Hightstown Road at 2:47 a.m. Oct. 2. She was released pending a future court date.
A 32-year-old West Windsor Township resident discovered she was the victim of identity theft when she attempted to buy a car. Her credit was flagged as “bad.” A search of her credit report revealed that someone had opened a Verizon account that was not in her name, but that used her Social Security number, in The Bronx, N.Y., and had run up a tab of $4,280 on five phone numbers. The incident occurred between Sept. 25, 2015 and Aug. 31, 2016.
