Anne McCabe Twele, of Princeton, NJ, passed away on October 15, 2016 after a short illness. Anne was born in Princeton on October 2, 1930, the daughter of David A. and Irene Duntlin McCabe. David McCabe was the Joseph D. Green 1895 Professor of Economics at Princeton University, hired by Woodrow Wilson in 1909. She was predeceased by her husband, Professor Jochen Twele and her younger sibling, Sr. Patricia McCabe, O.P.
Anne was a graduate of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. In her career she was employed by the Institute for Advanced Study and the Firestone Library at Princeton University. She was also an editor of Hesperia: The Journal of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and worked as a research assistant for her husband. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Princeton. Anne will be remembered by those who loved her as a talented artist, charming conversationalist and devoted daughter and wife. Her quiet understanding warmth will be greatly missed especially by the McCabe, John, Miller, Testa, and Twele families.
Visiting hours are Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 4:30PM to 6:00PM at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00AM in St. Paul Catholic Church, 214 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ. Private interment will follow.
