The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore recently honored 251 Girl Scouts from Monmouth and Ocean counties with the Girl Scout Bronze Award at the Girl Scouts’ Program Activity Center, Howell.
Girl Scouting’s highest awards – the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards – are a girl’s chance to make a lasting difference in the world. The Bronze Award is the highest recognition for achievement in Girl Scouting for girls in grades four and five, according to a press release.
The Bronze Award recognizes Girl Scouts who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through sustainable and measurable Take Action projects that address important community needs.
To earn the award, each Girl Scout’s project must include at least 20 hours of community service per girl during which she takes a leadership role while using her strengths, talents and skills to put her plan into action, according to the press release.
