A Trenton man who took body wash and deodorants from two stores at the Princeton Shopping Center has been charged with shoplifting and other offenses after he was stopped on Grover Avenue, near the shopping center, on Oct. 21, according to the Princeton Police Department.
William Henderson, 46, of Trenton, was charged with two counts of shoplifting for taking the body wash and deodorants from the Rite Aid drug store and McCaffrey’s grocery store at the Princeton Shopping Center on North Harrison Street shortly after 2 p.m. Oct. 21, police said.
He was also charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and hindering apprehension for giving false information to police. He was also found to have outstanding warrants from several towns, totaling $9,343.
Police were sent to Rite Aid to investigate reports of a shoplifter who had just left the store. They were told that the man was on foot in the area of Grover Avenue, and that’s where he was stopped by police. He was taken to Police Department headquarters for processing, where he gave police false information.
He was taken to the Mercer County Correctional Center.
