Fifteen students at Hopewell Valley Central High School will hit the stage next weekend to perform their farcical production of “Noises Off.”
Written by Michael Frayn, “Noises Off” revolves around a troupe of actors rehearsing the “show within a show” of Nothing On as opening night quickly approaches. Over the course of the production, each actor’s personal dramas begin to blend into the show until art begins to imitate real life — slamming doors and flying sardines and all.
Full of shocking surprises and gut-busting humor, “Noises Off” was originally called a “voyage to the outer limits of hilarity” by the New York Times.
This year’s cast of students, along with numerous volunteers and faculty, have been hard at work on production since the second week of school.
“Noises Off” runs on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Hopewell Valley Central High School.
