Curtain to rise on ‘Wilde and Wilder’ at SWMHS

The Sayreville War Memorial High School (SWMHS) Theatre Society will present the world-premiere production of “Wilde and Wilder,” an original adaptation by playwright and director Dr. Michael A. Piccuirro, 7 p.m. Nov. 4 and 5 at the high school, 820 Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville.

The play is a trilogy of stories by Oscar Wilde and Thornton Wilder. The first adaptation is Wilde’s comedy, “The Importance of Being Ernest.” The second is an adaptation of Wilder’s “The Long Christmas Dinner,” a serious drama dealing with the themes of birth, life and death. The final story is an adaptation of Wilde’s comic story, “The Canterville Ghost.”
