Jacqueline G. Lauffer passed away on Sunday October 30 2016 at the Meadows Nursing Home in Lawrenceville, N.J. among loving family and sensitive caregivers. Born in Charleroi Pennsylvania on June 23nd 1931 to Peter and Marie Brigard Garnic, Jacqueline (Jackie) attended Charleroi High School where her father, Pete, was principal.
Jackie went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she met her husband, James. They graduated in 1953 and were married until Jim’s death in 2013. Jackie earned her NJ teaching accreditation at Trenton State Teachers College to supplement her degree in Business Education. She taught 6th grade at Antheil Elementary in Ewing at its inception in 1960, and subsequently moved to Lawrence High School where she taught business education, typing, and short hand for more than 20 years.
Jackie and Jim lived in Woodstock Vt., Ewing NJ and Dover Delaware through their retirement years before finally resettling in Lawrence Twp. They are survived by son Peter and wife Marianne Lauffer, their daughters Shannon Lauffer Heather Adelsberger, married to son in law Andrew, son Gregory and wife Jean O’brien, their son Jeffrey and daughter Dale.
A memorial concert will be held in Jackie’s honor on Wednesday November 9 at 11:00 am at 1867 Sanctuary, 101 Scotch Road Ewing NJ 08632. In Memoriam donations may be made to The Ewing Animal Shelter, The Meadows Nursing Home, or a favorite charity in memory of Jackie.
