NORTH BRUNSWICK – A math scholar has been named the Scholar Athlete Artist for the month of October.
North Brunswick resident Kush Singh is a rising senior at The Academy at Edison. His GPA is 5.4.
He was awarded the Tenth Grade National Champion at Mathcon in Chicago and the silver medal in the eleventh grade. In 2015, he was invited to Ohio State University’s summer math program based on number theory which was held for six weeks on the Ohio State University campus. He placed in the top 3 percent of the national Interstellar Math Competition in both 2015 and 2016.
Kush and his school team also placed eighth out of all teams in the B Division of the Princeton University Mathematics Competition, an international competition held on the Princeton Campus. In 2016, Kush was invited to take the American Invitational Math Exam and won the Honor Roll at the AMC 12 competition twice. He is a National Merit semifinalist and his aspirations are to major in math in college.
Kush is the manager for the varsity soccer team at The Academy at Edison and is the science writer for the school newspaper.
He has volunteered more than 130 hours at the Elijah’s Promise soup kitchen in New Brunswick, which earned him the President’s Award for his recognized effort. He has spent many hours during the summer designing, organizing and teaching advanced math curriculum for middle school math students for North Brunswick Township India Day. He also mentors the local robotics team.
