Suzann Braga Fallon, 64, of Hightstown passed away peacefully at home on November 1. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she grew up in Metuchen where she was active in Girl Scouting and enjoyed playing her guitar for folk masses. The eldest of five children, she generously helped out at home and at her father’s music store where her love of music was nurtured. She attended high school at Mount St. Mary Academy in Watchung, NJ. There she cultivated her appreciation for music, theater and art and continued to enthusiastically provide service to others. Suzann went on to attend The College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ where she was instrumental in the development of the student run Rathskellar which soon became a social hub on campus. Graduating with a degree in Social Work, Suzann fulfilled her passion for helping people as a Social Worker at The Medical Center of Princeton. Suzann then pursued her other passion, interior design, and upon receiving her certification from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, she started her own design firm, Suzann B. Fallon Interior Design, based in Cranbury NJ to help clients create beautiful home and work environments.
While working in Princeton, Suzann married her high school sweetheart, Donald Fallon, also of Metuchen. They moved to Hightstown where they started a family and lived for over forty years. Many happy memories were created there and on their summer trips to Acadia National Park in Maine. As a devoted mother, she was an active supporter of her children’s many interests including soccer, Boy Scouts, theater productions and high school band. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua, Hightstown where she also taught Confirmation classes at one time. Most recently, she gained great satisfaction serving on the East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education for more than 12 years, caring for her parents, growing her business, and enjoying her granddaughters.
Suzann will be remembered as a devoted daughter, loving wife and mother, magical grandmother, loyal sister and family member, wonderful friend, adoring Godmother, and talented interior designer with close ties to business associates and clients. She was a warm, friendly, kind person who always put others first. She was a gracious host who enjoyed bringing family and friends together and always made everyone feel welcome. No celebration was complete without her signature chocolate mocha layer cake. Suzann was a constant presence at family events attending the plays, athletic events, and numerous graduations of her nieces and nephews. Through her dedication to her family, friends, work and community she truly designed a life she loved.
She is predeceased by her father Arthur R. Braga. She is survived by her mother Marie Scott Braga, Metuchen; her beloved husband of 41 years, Don; two sons, Timothy (Andrea) Cumberland, ME and Devin (Elizabeth) New York City; three granddaughters, Nina, Nell and Paige.
