MARLBORO – The ninth annual Marlboro Multicultural Day will be held from 1-5 p.m. Nov. 20 at Marlboro High School, 95 N. Main St. (Route 79). All are welcome to attend the event.
The afternoon’s program will consist of folkloric performances, ethnic food samples after the performances and art exhibits representing the participating countries.
In a press release, the Marlboro Multicultural Day Committee said its mission is to highlight the traditions of immigrants’ families who reside in Marlboro and neighboring towns.
“The committee consists of local high school teachers, engineers, real estate agents, accountants and other members of the community working as a team,” according to the press release. “Each member represents a different culture, bringing to the event typical folkloric dances, customs, ethnic food samples and art displays.”
Marlboro Multicultural Day is sponsored by the township and by area businesses.
“There will be plenty of opportunities to take beautiful photographs and to talk about our diversity and our cultural traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. Please join us, it is a great event and it is free to everyone,” the organizing committee said.
