Senior quarterback Nick Palladino from Millstone tied one record and broke two others before leaving in the fourth quarter when Muhlenberg College’s football team rolled past Ursinus College, 49-7, Nov. 5.
The win was the fifth straight for the Mules (8-1) and gave the senior class, who was honored before the game on Senior Day, a program record-tying 33 wins over their four years.
Palladino completed 20 of 27 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 62 yards and a pair of scores. He tied the Centennial Conference all-time record of 87 career touchdown passes and broke school records for touchdowns responsible for in a game (six) and career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (22).
Muhlenberg rolled up 535 yards of total offense and 31 first downs in topping the 40-point mark for the fourth straight game for the first time in program history. The defense allowed only 170 yards and, for the fourth straight game, just one offensive touchdown.
The Mules have outscored their last four opponents by a 220-38 margin.
Palladino has thrown for 2,195 yards on 67.8 percent accuracy (179-of-264). He has thrown for 25 touchdowns and been intercepted seven times to earn a 163.58 quarterback efficiency rating.
