PRINCETON: A record-setting day for the Princeton Half Marathon

A record number of runners raced through Princeton Sunday morning, enjoying the fall foliage while raising money for HiTOPS of Princeton.
The annual race sold out as 1,750 runners signed up to run the streets of Princeton, beginning and ending at Hinds Plaza on Witherspoon Street.
With cool but sunny conditions, course records were set by 24-yar-old Matt Cheney of Princeton, the men’s winner at 1:11:41 and 28-year-old Emily Sherrard of Hopewell the women’s winner at 1:22.26. Kevin Vollrath and Steven Tignor, both of Princeton, were second and third in the men’s race, with Sarah Van Cleve and Meghan Bruce, both of Princeton, second and third in the women’s race.
The race raised money for HiTOPS, the health education and advocacy group that works with adolescents by providing comprehensive sexuality education and promoting healthy relationships and supportive connections.
