More than 150 Webelos Scouts from the Mercer Area District of the Boy Scouts, along with 20 Girl Scouts, took part in a First Responder program held recently at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor. The Scouts learned first aid, what do to if someone is poisoned, how to deal with a choking victim and what to do about serious bleeding. Other classes included skin injuries, safe swim defense, rescue breathing, and splinting. Upon completion of the course the scouts received special badges. Demonstrating and teaching the scouts were members of local rescue squads. Here, Cailey Dahl of Kingston and Kendall Park First Aid demonstrated techniques to Vladislav Vinogradov, 10, of Pack 79 in Robbinsville.
