Metuchen Library trip to Metropolitan Museum set for Dec. 6

The Friends of the Metuchen Library will hold its annual visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Dec. 6.

The Christmas Tree and Creche will be on display, as always, to celebrate the holiday season. Several new exhibits, as well as the the Met’s world famous collections, are featured for viewing. They include: “Jerusalem;” Max Beckman; Valentin; Fragonard; Mastry, The Works of Kerry James Marshall; and Rei Kawakuba fashions for Comme des Garcons.

The bus will depart from in front of the library, at Library Place in Metuchen, promptly at 9:15 a.m., but please be on the bus by 9 a.m. for best traffic conditions. Parking is usually available on Library Place and some other streets around the Library.

The trip will cost $59 per person, which covers transportation, the entry fee to the museum and a gratuity for the bus driver. Payment is due by Nov. 20, by check or money order, payable to the Friends of the Metuchen Library. No cash will be accepted and no refunds are made for cancellations.

If unable to attend, you are encouraged to sell unused tickets to people on the waiting list or on your own. Present payment by Nov. 20 at the main desk of the Metuchen Library and be sure to add your name to the trip list.

Lunch can be purchased in the museum’s cafeteria or at a pricier full-service restaurant. Audio earphones are available for $4. The return trip from New York City leaves promptly at 3:30 p.m. Please be on the bus by 3:20 p.m.
