Mr. and Mrs. Gregory G. Wingerter of Sayreville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Oct. 1, 1996, at Saint John the Baptist Church, New Brunswick. A reception followed at the Falcons Hall, South River.
In honor of the Wingerters’ golden anniversary, a family dinner was held at Nonna’s Citi Cucina, Marlboro. The festivities were hosted by the couple’s son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sunny Wingerter of Manalapan.
Mrs. Wingerter, the former Florence Blaszka, has been employed for 30 years as a paraprofessional, special needs, with Sayreville Public Schools. She has worked as a playground aide since 1986 and as director of the Before and After School Network of Sayreville 1999-June 2016. She is a paratransit aide for special-needs students within the Sayreville school district and has served as a teacher’s aide.
Her husband has been self-employed as a commercial lobster fisherman for 51 years since the age of 19 when he founded The Brothers, a commercial fishing enterprise out of Belmar, with his brother, Royce Wingerter. He is the co-owner/operator of the business.
The couple has three sons, Jeff Wingerter of Manalapan, Gregory Wingerter of Philadelphia and Ray Wingerter of Belmar.
Mr. and Mrs. Wingerter have three grandchildren.
