HIGHTSTOWN: Officers save victim of apparent opiate overdose

Hightstown Borough Police officers were able to save a female victim of an apparent opiate overdose by administering Narcan during an incident Nov. 15.
Officer Abbatemarco and Officer Buck responded to the 200 block of Greeley Street on a report of a 25-year-old female who was unresponsive as a result of a heroin overdose.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim in respiratory arrest, cyanotic, with a shallow pulse. Officers observed paraphernalia in the area consistent with heroin use and immediately deployed one dose of Naloxone. The subject responded to the antidote upon the arrival of paramedics, who then took over medical attention.
The subject was transported to a local hospital, after walking out to the stretcher, where she is now continuing to receive medical intervention.
