Wawa’s celebration of the two grand openings of the chain’s newest New Jersey stores located in Somerdale and Edison will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 9.
Both of the grand openings are at 10 a.m. at 2 North White Horse Pike, Somerdale, and at Woodbridge Avenue and College Drive East, Edison.
Highlights of the events include:
· General Managers, Wawa associates, customers and Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose, joining together for ceremonial ribbon cuttings.
· Festivities, giveaways, Wawa Rewards and free coffee at both stores through Dec. 18, any size Post Mix, Ice Coffee, Brewed Tea and Iced for $0.89, any hoagie variety for $2.99 and any milkshake for $1.99.
The grand opening events will conclude with a “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie building competition. The Edison Police Department and the Edison Fire Department will face off in a battle of bravery, skill, and sandwich-making expertise.
The Somerdale Police Department and the Somerdale Fire Department will also face off in a battle of bravery, skill, and sandwich-making expertise. Each team will be challenged to see who can build the most hoagies in three minutes in the traditional Wawa way. Wawa will conclude the “Hoagies for Heroes” competitions by presenting checks on behalf of the winning and runner up teams for $1,000 to the charities of their choice.
