Holiday toy collection for children of local military families

Eagles Up! would like to make the children of deployed military personnel smile by sending each one a holiday gift to thank them for being “Little Heroes at Home.”

Pick up a “gift star” at the Long Branch Free Public Library. The “Little Heroes” holiday donation tree is located at the Circulation Desk at the Main Library, 328 Broadway, Long Branch. The tree is decorated with red, white and blue stars inscribed with the age and a gift suggestion for a child of local military families. The ages range from newborn up to 17 years old, and gift suggestions include diapers, baby clothes, infant toys, dolls, trucks and games. Gift cards to stores such as Target, Walmart and Claire’s are suggested for teenagers.

Unwrapped gifts should be dropped off at the library’s Circulation Desk through Dec. 23 with the star attached. Volunteers from Eagles Up! will distribute the gifts to the children of local military personnel who are away from home for the holidays this year.

Eagles Up! is a 501(c)(3) organization. Learn more by visiting www.eaglesup.us. For questions about gift donations, please call the library at 732-222-3900.
