HILLSBOROUGH: Dukes recognize exceptional efforts from their players

The Hillsborough Dukes recently recognized its scholar-athletes: students who maintain high grade point averages while participating in Pop Warner Football and Cheer programs.
During their annual scholar recognition event earlier this year, 18 members of the Hillsborough Dukes were recognized for their achievements by joining Pop Warner Little Scholar National Academic All-American teams.
In addition, Hillsborough Dukes James Langdon Award winners were also recognized earlier in the year during the the group’s banquet. Each honoree achieved a GPA of 96 percent or better for the first marking period of 2015 while managing the demands of both school and their Pop Warner seasons.
Dukes honorees from fifth grade were: Michael Caporaso, Chris DeCicco, Natalia Fonzetti, Nathan Kepniss, Kyle Kolans, William Meszaros, Jack O’Donnell, Reagan Pirog, Logan Press, Lucas Scott, Madison Turash and Makaylah Williams.
Seventh grade honorees were: Amy Applegate, Allison Compell, Gillian Prince and Jessica Tuck.
The sole eighth grade honoree was Sarah Grimmer.
