The following area residents graduated from Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island, in the spring of 2016: Kristina Biyad of Colts Neck earned a degree in political science and Joseph Cardella of Manalapan earned a degree in architecture.
Sixteen MBA students from Quinnipiac University, Hamden, Connecticut, including Michael DeGenaro of Manalapan, spent Thanksgiving week in Dublin, Ireland, and Belfast, Northern Ireland. The students toured sites of historic, political, economic and cultural importance, and they visited nine Irish businesses. The students ate Thanksgiving dinner at Titanic Belfast, which was recently named the world’s leading tourist attraction. In addition, they attended the Friendship Four ice hockey tournament, which included the Quinnipiac men’s team, at SSE Arena in Belfast.
Joelle Marie Iovine of Manalapan has been inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s honor society, at Quinnipiac University, Hamden, Connecticut. Students inducted into the society must exhibit superior academic performance in the field of communication and in overall academic performance. The society offers students opportunities to network with communication professionals.
Nicolette Ruffler of Manalapan, a graduate student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Misericordia University, Dallas Township, Pennsylvania, recently presented her capstone research project at the third annual Student Research Symposium: Current Research in Physical Therapy. Nicolette received her doctorate degree at the sixth annual Misericordia University winter commencement ceremony. She presented her work before an audience of clinical instructors on subjects that focused on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders.
Lauren Loshiavo of Colts Neck has graduated from Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
Alexandra Adimando of Marlboro was named to the dean’s list for the 2016 fall semester at Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee.
Kayla Carney of Morganville graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication during commencement exercises held Dec. 16-17 at Coastal Carolina University, Conway, South Carolina.
Samantha Nicole Drake, the daughter of Leslie and Steve Drake of Marlboro, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2016 fall semester at Quinnipiac University,
Hamden, Connecticut. Samantha is majoring in marketing. She is a 2015 graduate of Marlboro High School.
