David Aaron will present “1950s Music, News and Trivia” at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 10 at The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County (JCCMC), 1775 Oak Tree Rd., Edison.
When the Big Band Era came to an end during the late 1940s, popular music by singers took over America’s musical preferences. Songs on the radio listened to included Theresa Brewer singing “Music, Music, Music” and Fats Domino singing “Blueberry Hill.” Songs rocked to included Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock” and Patti Page singing “The Tennessee Waltz” plus many more great songs from the 1950s.
Come down memory lane remembering the DA haircut, ponytails, Milton Berle’s TV show every Tuesday evening, Ed Sullivan’s “Toast of the Town” and more. This will be a fun hour to remember the 1950s.
The cost is $8 for JCCMC members or $11 for nonmembers.
