Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center will present “Love Letters,” at 8 p.m. on Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 at Woodbridge Middle School, 525 Barron Ave., Woodbridge.
A. R. Gurney’s touching two-character comedy-drama is told through letters sent between friends over 50 years. The play follows two New Englanders from childhood to prep school to adulthood, to careers, children, and life’s challenges. In 2014, the play was revived on Broadway with a rotating celebrity cast that included Mia Farrow, Brian Dennehy, Carol Burnett, Alan Alda, and Candice Bergen.
This play will function as a fundraiser for Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center and will be performed by Dragonfly friends and accomplished actors Ted Cancila (Dragonfly’s 2014 cabaret; productions of “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “She Loves Me”) and Rosemary Wall (two-time NJACT nominee; “Our Town,” “Blithe Spirit.”) Dragonfly’s artistic director Catherine LaMoreaux will direct, and artistic associate Anna Paone will assistant-direct. This is Dragonfly’s second show in their new home in Woodbridge.
Tickets are $10 for all seats. A reception will follow the performances. Tickets are available via Dragonfly’s website or mail-order form at www.dragonflyartsnj.com/purchase-tickets.
