ALLENTOWN – A group of Allentown High School students will give youngsters from the community a chance to meet the characters from the school’s upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
On Jan. 21 from noon to 12 p.m., the cast and creative team of the popular musical will host “Be Our Guest Day” for children ages 3 to 10 at Allentown High School, 27 High St., Allentown.
According to production assistant Ariana Albarella, the event will allow children to participate in activities with the show’s characters, played by the leads of the cast, throughout the high school.
“Our intention is to make the characters come to life and to allow kids to become part of the story,” Albarella said. “The children will have the opportunity to learn choreography from the show, take a tour of the castle (auditorium) and more.”
Admission to “Be Our Guest Day” is $10 per child, payable at the door. Additional information is available by emailing [email protected]. Money raised will be used to fund the production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
According to a flyer promoting the Jan. 21 event at the high school, activities with the characters will include “Read with Belle,” “Dance with Beast,” “Have Tea with Mrs. Potts,” “Learn to be a Gentleman with Lumiere,” “Tour the Castle with Cogsworth,” “Dress up with Madame,” “Tidy up with Babette,” “Invent with Maurice” and “Get Strong with Gaston.”
