FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – Residents and professionals who will serve Freehold Township in numerous capacities this year have been hired and appointed by the members of the Township Committee.
During the committee’s reorganization meeting on Jan. 6, a resolution authorizing contracts with the following professionals for 2017 was passed: Holman Frenia Allison, auditor; Robert Munoz, township attorney and labor counsel; Francis Accisano, Planning Board attorney; Thomas Planning Associates, consulting planner to Township Committee and Planning Board; and Phillips Preiss Grygiel; consulting planner to Township Committee and Planning Board.
Contracts for engineering services were authorized with T&M Associates, consulting engineer to Township Committee and Planning Board, shade tree consultant, traffic engineer and environmental consultant; Mott MacDonald, LLC, consulting engineer to Township Committee and Planning Board, general engineering consultant and water and sewer engineering consultant to the utilities department, and environmental engineering consultant; Excel Environmental Resources, environmental engineering consultant; and Shopshire Associates, LLC, traffic engineer.
Resolutions were passed to reappoint Anthony Vecchio as municipal prosecutor and Richard Sciria as municipal court public defender for 2017.
The committee approved appointments to municipal boards and commissions:
- Planning Board: Mayor Lester Preston, Committeeman Thomas Cook and Committeeman Anthony Ammiano were appointed to one-year terms; Patrick Coburn was reappointed to a four-year term; Apryl Kurtz was reappointed to a two-year term as an alternate.
- Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners: Jennifer Patten was reappointed to a five-year term as an alternate.
- Historic Preservation Commission: Cynthia Livingston was reappointed to a four-year term as a regular member and vice chair.
- Emergency Management Council: Cook was reappointed to a one-year term as the Township Committee liaison; Freehold Township K-8 School District Assistant Superintendent Neil Dickstein was reappointed to a two-year term; East Freehold Fire Company Chief Justin Holley was reappointed to a one-year term; Centrastate Medical Center safety officer Martin Mee was reappointed to a two-year term; Raymond Piccolini was reappointed to a three-year term as the coordinator and chairman; Freehold Township Independent Fire Company Chief Wayne Prochnow was reappointed to a one-year term; Inverness Director of Security Steven Schwartz was reappointed to a two-year term; and Stephen Solowey was reappointed to a two-year term as a member at large.
- Fire Prevention Board: Evan Berman was reappointed to a four-year term, Holley was reappointed to a one-year term, Prochnow was reappointed to a one-year term and Police Chief Ernest Schriefer was reappointed to a one-year term.
- Lake Topanemus Commission: Christopher Kean was reappointed to a three-year term and Joseph Reilly was reappointed to a three-year term.
- Board of Health: Eileen Allen was reappointed to a two-year term as an alternate, Robin Lemesevski was reappointed to a three-year term and named chair, Alene Opatut was reappointed to a three-year term, Lisa Porth was reappointed to a two-year term as an alternate and Michele Weissman was reappointed to a three-year term.
- Manasquan River Regional Sewer Authority: Richard Gatto was reappointed to a five-year term.
- Municipal Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse: Barbara Gandolfo was reappointed to a three-year term and Schriefer was reappointed to a three-year term.
- Transportation Board: James Mauro was reappointed to a three-year term and named vice chairman, and Barbara Vitale was reappointed to a three-year term.
