Man charged with burglarizing Livingston Avenue establishment

NORTH BRUNSWICK – Officers have identified a local resident who allegedly burglarized a commercial establishment on Livingston Avenue.

On Jan. 12, North Brunswick police reviewed surveillance cameras in the area while also conferring with the Franklin Police Department, which was investigating similar incidents, according to police reports.

On the morning of Jan. 14, officers were dispatched to another similar commercial burglary on Route 27. Officers and detectives responded to process this scene. Once finished and a short distance away, a detective observed a man fitting the suspect description in both physical characteristics, as well as clothing, according to police.

As the officer approached, the man reportedly attempted to hide but was unsuccessful. Upon investigating further, the Timothy Williams, 51, of New Brunswick, was taken into custody and charged the two burglaries, two counts of theft, criminal mischief and other unrelated charges.

Additional charges may be pending from other jurisdictions, police said.
