Two incumbents on the Borough Council were worn into office at the recent Pennington Council reorganization meeting., Charles “Chico” Marciante and Beverly Mills, both Democrats, won their seats in the November election, running unopposed. No Republican candidates were on the ballot., Ms. Mills first became a member of the Borough Council following the resignation of Jim Davy in the early fall of 2016. The Pennington Borough Council selected Ms. Mills by unanimous vote to replace Mr. Davy., The terms of office for Mr. Marciante and Ms. Mills expire Dec. 31, 2019., The other seats on the six-member Borough Council are held by Glen Griffiths, Joseph Lawver, Catherine “Kit” Chandler and Deborah Gnatt., Anthony Persichilli is mayor of Pennington Borough., During the Borough Council reorganization meeting on Jan. 9, the mayor’s appointments to local boards were also announced. Those appointments are as follows:, Planning Board: William Meytrott, Deborah Gnatt and Eileen Heinzel as the mayor’s designee., Economic Development: Chris Murphy, Jeff Eckerson and Catherine Chandler., Environmental Commission: Karl Muessig, Nicholas Angarone, John Jackson and Catherine Chandler., Open Space Committee: Winn Thompson, Dan Pace, Alan Hersey and Deborah Gnatt., Appointments and re-appointments to local boards with Borough Council approval are as follows:, Parks and Recreation: Frank Vanderee and Beverly Mills., Board of Health: Steven Papenberg, Daniel Boone and Catherine Chandler., Library Board of Trustees: Terri Epstein and Beverly Mills., Shade Tree Commission: Joseph Lawver., Senior Advisory Board: Edwin Weed Tucker and Joseph Lawver., Historic Preservation Commission: Catherine Chandler., The Borough Council also passed a series of resolutions making the following appointments for 2017:, Borough Attorney: Walter R. Bliss, Jr., Municipal Prosecutor: Craig J. Hubert, Public Defender: Richard Kelly., Borough Auditor: Hodulik And Morrison., Bond Counsel: Edward J. Mcmanimon
