Cheers to black-ish
for electing to tackle the election. In their classic comedy-tinted-with-truth style, the sitcom’s writers crafted a balanced but still ballsy episode about Trump’s win that looked at both sides of the vote with liberal doses of anger, enlightenment and American pride.
Jeers to Netflix
for not slowing down. A Series of Unfortunate Events, One Day at a Time (with Rita Moreno), The OA, Coin Heist … it’s like every day the streaming service is giving us new originals to binge on but no downtime to actually catch up on any of them!
Jeers to Search Party
for leaving us looking for more. TBS’s dramedy about vapid millennials hunting for a missing pal they barely liked had smarts, fun-to-hate characters and a twistedly solid end that made us worry about where these guys are headed in Season 2. We miss them already.
Cheers to Shadowhunters
for upgrading the Downworlders. Thanks to new showrunners, Season 2 of the demon-hunting drama is hotter, faster and friskier, especially now that things are as messy for #Malec (Matthew Daddario and Harry Shum Jr., pictured) as they are for Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Jace (Dominic Sherwood).
