Parent workshop to focus on research and inquiry

The South Brunswick Parent Academy will hold a workshop “Research & Inquiry: Engaging Students, Encouraging Discovery” from 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at Crossroads North Middle School, 635 Georges Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

Both the Common Code State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards require students to be skilled in inquiry and research in order to produce thoughtful analysis of learning in response to real-word problems, questions and ideas. The South Brunswick School District has developed a new Research & Inquiry framework to guide students, teachers and library media specialists through a well-articulated series of skills using topics from the curriculum.

This presentation for parents of students in grades 3-8 will demonstrate the progression of skills and the varied products that are part of this exciting new framework.
