John MacMillan Wilson Jr.

John MacMillan Wilson Jr., 74, of Aberdeen, passed away on Jan. 22, 2017 at his home with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. God saw that he was getting tired, a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him and whispered, “Come with Me.”

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jan. 2, 1943. “Jack” grew up in Maplewood until he married Marcia Gordon, and they had lived in Aberdeen since 1975.

John worked as an accountant in the construction field.

He was an avid sports fan, loving the New York Giants, Yankees and Rangers. He played tennis in college and as an adult. Jack’s passion for music began at a young age and continued his entire life. He loved playing his Fender guitar, both in a rock band throughout college and most recently with the Praise Team at the United Methodist Church of Matawan. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jack is survived by Marcia, his loving wife of 45 years; two daughters, Stephanie Anne Wilson and Jessica Lee Wilson; a sister, Susan Wilson Darrow; two granddaughters, Hailey Morgan Schaefer and Katelyn Wilson Schaefer; as well as his son-in-law, Geoffrey Schaefer.
