Rev. Dr. Paul A. Lachance

Rev. Dr. Paul A. Lachance, a deacon at St. Paul’s (Princeton) and an internationally recognized food scientist, died on Jan. 21, 2017 from Parkinsonism and was put to rest on Jan. 28th at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick, NJ.
 Rev. Dr. Lachance is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Thérèse Coté, four adult children, and nine grandchildren.
He was the scientist responsible for the research and development of space food for NASA and was a professor of Food Science at Rutgers University for over 40 years. His work is foundational for food scientists around the world, and his development of what became the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system has saved millions of people from becoming ill or dying.
