Temple Shalom of Aberdeen will hold a free breakfast program at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 at 5 Ayrmont Lane, Aberdeen. The program is open to the community and will address the current drug epidemic.
Parents, teachers, students and other concerned community members can learn about risk factors involved with opioid and heroin abuse. It will cover understanding addictive behaviors, the stigma involved and where to go for help.
Doug Collier, a retired DEA agent who works with the state Attorney General’s Office to educate the public on this topic, will be the featured speaker. He has served on the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. The program will include a panel discussion and Q-and-A session.
