SOUTH BRUNSWICK — Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout will be music to one young man’s ears.

Dermot Berg, a member of Boy Scout Troop 90 in the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, is starting an instrument drive for his Eagle project.

According to his project flier, the gift of music “is a wonderful experience” so he hopes to provide that gift to others.

“Music is a passion of mine. I was lucky enough to be able to start playing the saxophone when I was 7 years old, and I now play both guitar and drums. For my project, I am collecting music instruments for Trenton High School in order to give the gift of music to kids who don’t have the opportunity,” he said.

Dermot is collecting saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, flutes, tubas and sousaphones. To make a contribution, email [email protected] or visit his Facebook page.
