The Long Branch Free Public Library is currently serving as the hosts to certified tax volunteers who are offering free assistance through April 15 at the library at 328 Broadway, Long Branch.
You do not need to be a Long Branch resident to use this service, which is first-come, first-served. Arrive early and sign in at the Adult Services desk on the lower level to receive a number, which holds your place in line for the tax preparers. If you are not present when the number is called, you will receive a new number and be placed at the end of the line.
Come prepared with all the necessary information to receive the best and quickest service possible.
Bring a copy of last year’s return, Social Security numbers for all taxpayers and dependents, final brokerage statements if applicable, all W-2 and 1099 forms showing income, the total amount of property tax paid last year and the amount of mortgage interest paid, any tax booklets mailed to your home and any unemployment vouchers.
