SOUTH BRUNSWICK – There were numerous motor vehicle accidents and stuck cars during Winter Storm Niko today, Feb. 9, which dropped six inches of snow on South Brunswick this morning.
Although the snow ended after 2 p.m. and road conditions have improved in the past few hours, the South Brunswick Police Department is cautioning residents about a refreeze tonight, according to a statement released this afternoon.
Most major roadways are down to blacktop due to the work of the township plow crews, according to the statement, but there were 11 motor vehicle crashes and 12 disabled vehicles during the storm.
However, the forecast for overnight is bitter cold so motorists should reduce speed and leave extra time for their travel, according to police.
