The Freehold Area Running Club’s St. Paddy’s 8K (metric 5 mile) road race will take place at 10:30 a.m. on March 19 in Michael J. Tighe Park, Georgia Road, Freehold.
The early registration fee is $30 and can be made by mail, however, it must be postmarked on or before March 15. Post registration which is $35 will be available on race day beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will take place at Tighe Park.
The St. Paddy’s race is in its 28th year, making it one of the oldest distance events held in Monmouth County. The course runs through the streets of Freehold and Tighe Park. It is put on by the Freehold Area Running Club and there will be post race refreshments supplied by the Club and Court Jester Restaurant, a major sponsor of the event.
There will be awards for the race placers and age group winners. All who are pre-entered are guaranteed a top quality shirt.
The race benefits Freehold Township Parks and Recreation, the Special Olympics and Freehold Township Recreation Challenger Sports for Special Needs.
