Two males charged with various drug offenses

 

EAST BRUNSWICK – Police lodged drug charges against two adult males following a motor vehicle stop.

Ptl. Dennis Chieffo stopped a black 2008 Honda Civic at Route 18 and Cindy Way for careless driving, failure to maintain lane and disregard of a traffic control device around 11:28 p.m. on Jan. 14, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department (EBPD).

During the course of the stop, Chieffo reportedly detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and a search of the vehicle revealed 2.89 ounces of cocaine, 204 Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, 48 oxycodone pills, 126 grams of marijuana and hash oil, according to police.

Jamil Boykin, 23, of Piscataway, and John Peri-Okonny, 28, of Monmouth Junction, were charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of hashish, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute in a school zone.

Both males were processed and transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.
