PLAINSBORO Police Blotter for the week of 3/10/17

Jason Salamone, 40, of Coventry Court, Iselin, and Salvador Cruz, 44, of Wood Avenue, North Brunswick Township, were arrested on active warrants at 11:17 p.m. on March 7 after Salamone, who was driving, was stopped for failure to maintain his lane on Route 1 North. Salamone had a warrant for $350 from East Rutherford Municipal Court and Cruz was wanted for failure to appear on a drug charge from Essex County. Salamone was released after posting bail, but Cruz was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center where he was held without bail awaiting extradition to Essex County., Women’s purses were stolen from two vehicles that were parked at the Plainsboro Preserve between 4 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. March 4. The thief smashed windows on the cars to get inside, causing $1,000 worth of damage., Elija A. Reaves, 25, of Garfield Street, Linden, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped on Route 1 South at 12:56 a.m. March 2 for failure to keep right and for having tinted windows. He was also issued summonses for failure to keep right, having tinted windows and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was released with a pending court date., Ashimond L. Grier, 40, of Newell Avenue, Trenton, was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for traveling 101 miles per hour in a 55-miles-per-hour zone on Route 1 North at 2:33 a.m. March 2. He was also issued summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, failure to give a proper turn signal, failure to wear a seatbelt and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was also found to have an active warrant for $350 from Hamilton Township Municipal Court. He was released with a pending court date.
