JACKSON – Township Council members have authorized the sale of a plenary retail liquor license through public auction. The minimum bid for the license will be $375,000.
The holder of a plenary retail distribution license may only sell alcoholic beverages for consumption off the licensed premises.
Council members voted on March 16 to place the liquor license up for auction. The township clerk will advertise the availability of the license and the date by which bids must be submitted.
In other business, the council renewed a senior citizens mobile home park license for Jackson Acres LLC for the Jackson Acres Mobile Home Park, 2 Lisa Lane. The council also renewed a mobile home park license for Land O Pines Mobile Home Park, 135 West Commodore Blvd.
Both mobile home park licenses will be subject to any and all restrictions imposed by the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Planning Board.
Finally, council members passed a resolution in support of a New Jersey Department of Transportation project to replace a bridge on Wright Debow Road.
According to the resolution, the DOT has begun the concept phase for the replacement of the bridge decking. Officials said the project will result in road closures and detours.
