Ocean Township’s municipal golf course, the nine-hole William F. Larkin Golf Course at Colonial Terrace, will open for the season on April 1.
The course, which is located at 1003 Wickapecko Drive, offers more than 2,600 yards of golf for both residents and nonresidents. Hours are 7 a.m. to dusk, seven days a week, weather permitting.
“William F. Larkin Golf Course at Colonial Terrace is conveniently located in Ocean Township,” said Kathy Reiser, recreation director for the township. “Since the township began operating the course in 2008, we have made significant improvements and offer programs for golfers of all ages. With William F. Larkin Golf Course’s convenient location near area beaches and shopping, there’s always time for nine!”
For the month of April, greens fees are just $13 for all golfers, any day at any time.
Beginning May 1, the weekday fee for Ocean Township residents is $19 and the weekend fee is $22. Nonresidents pay $24 weekdays and $27 on weekends, with discounts for junior and senior golfers, both residents and nonresidents.
Twilight fees after 3 p.m. are also offered. Pull carts, clubs and golf carts are available for rental.
PGA Professional Dale Shankland offers private and group lessons for golfers of all ages and abilities, including a “Get Golf Ready” series for beginner golfers who want to learn how to play in just one week.
Special events and discounts are offered throughout the season, including free golf for moms on Mother’s Day (May 14), free golf for dads on Father’s Day (June 18), a junior tour, family golf clinics and an adult/child tournament.
