Plainsboro man stuck by car, suffers multiple injuries

A 25-year-old Plainsboro Township man suffered broken bones and other injuries when he was struck by a car in the crosswalk at Plainsboro Road and Deer Creek Drive shortly before 8:30 a.m. March 16, according to the Plainsboro Township Police Department., Avinash Kasaragadda was carried about 80 feet by the car that struck him as he was crossing the street, police said. He also received back, head and neck bruising and bleeding in the accident. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick., The accident occurred when the driver, 27-year-old Catherine Rand of Ashford Drive, Plainsboro Township, failed to stop at the red traffic signal at the intersection, and proceeded through it., She was issued summonses for failure to observe a traffic signal and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.
