The Lyrics for Lucas Foundation will hold a musical tribute and celebration in support of the Where Angels Play Foundation and Lucas DiGuilio’s gift to the Garden Friends Learning Center in Sayreville from 1-5 p.m. on April 22.
The event will be a day of celebration and remembrance for Lucas, who passed away at the age of 22 months from sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC), which occurs when an apparently healthy child beyond the age of 12 months dies without warning and without cause.
Sayreville Mayor Kennedy O’Brien will provide the opening remarks. Additional speakers include Bill Lavin, founder of Where Angels Play; Lucas’s father Albert DiGuilio; Maria Markisello of the Lyrics for Lucas Foundation; and Terri Kelly, owner of the Garden Friends Learning Center.
The day’s events will take place in conjunction with The MAX of Sayreville’s Day of Giving Event. In collaborating with the Lyrics for Lucas Foundation, the MAX seeks to combine fundraising in support of SUDC with a day of family activities. Activities include face painting; live entertainment from local musicians such as FOG, Still Small Voices and Split Decision; a tricky tray; mini workout sessions led by MAX instructors; creative movement for children; and refreshments.
