HILLSBOROUGH: House gutted by afternoon blaze, deemed uninhabitable by officials

A family in Hillsborough were left without a home yesterday, after flames tore through their Campbell Road residence and caused substantial structural damage and property loss., According to the Hillsborough Police Department, the incident took place at approximately 2 p.m. Once responding officers arrived at the home, located at 32 Campbell Road, officials said the house was already “fully engulfed in flames” and that all occupants had already made their way out of the home., Fire apparatuses and personnel from Hillsborough Fire Companies 36 and 37, Manville Fire Company, Somerville Fire Company and the Millstone Valley Fire Company responded to the incident. Officials said the fire was quickly under control and extinguished, but the home was left uninhabitable as a result of the damage., Hillsborough EMS Unit 79 and Robert Wood Johnson EMS units, as well as officials from the township’s office of emergency management, fire safety Bureau and building department, also responded., The fire is currently under investigation by the police department and the fire safety bureau, though officials do not believe foul play to be the cause of the fire.
