The Plumsted Township Police Department in Ocean County is accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer. Applicants must be 18 to 35 years old and must be police training commission certified.
An employment application may be obtained at the Plumsted Township municipal clerk’s office, 121 Evergreen Road, New Egypt. A $25 application fee may be be paid by cash, check or money order.
Completed applications and a resume must be returned in person to the police department’s Records Bureau between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The township is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The submission deadline is May 9.
In Middlesex County, applications for the 2017 police entrance exam for the South Brunswick Police Department will be accepted through May 26. The department will administer a competitive exam from the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Association on June 12.
The police department has 80 full-time sworn officers and handles more than 78,000 phone calls annually. The 42-square-mile township has more than 43,000 residents, according to a press release.
At a minimum, candidates must be 18 to 35 years old; possess a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university; or have four years of active military service in the United States armed forces with an honorable discharge.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current driver’s license.
The department anticipates up to 1,000 candidates will take the exam at South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction. For a list of requirements and how to apply, visit www.policeapp.com
