The Return Of Twin Peaks
Showtime plans to air a two-part premiere of its limited event series Twin Peaks on Sunday, May 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT over the air, on demand and over the internet. The 18-part series picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. A cast of over 200, will include some notables from the original series, along with some very recognizable new cast additions. As one of the creators of the original Twin Peaks series, David Lynch is directing all 18 episodes of this return version.
With the world wondering when Bachelor alumni Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell will tie the knot, the two love birds dip their toes into the wedding world when they serve as the hosts to Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, airing Sunday, May 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Freeform. The 90-minute special will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the one-of-a-kind weddings and magical engagements that take place at Disney Destinations around the globe.
All-new comedy Downward Dog will premiere in a special sneak peek on Wednesday, May 17, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. The series will move to its regular time period, Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Downward Dog follows the day-to-day life of Nan (Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Allison Tolman, “Fargo”), as told by her increasingly lonely and philosophical dog, Martin (voiced by Samm Hodges). It’s a show about a dog and the girl he adores, and even at their worst, Nan and Martin just might be best for one another.
Syfy will premiere season three of its time travel thriller 12 Monkeys Friday-Sunday, May 19-21 from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT each night. The new season will continue the journey of James Cole (Aaron Stanford), a man sent back in time to eradicate the source of a deadly plague, and his partner, brilliant virologist Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull). While attempting to untangle an insidious conspiracy that’s been spun throughout centuries, the duo embark on a desperate search across time to find the man responsible for the apocalypse – a time traveler who calls himself the Witness. Killing the Witness will save the world, but the journey will come at tremendous personal stakes for the pair. The series also stars Kirk Acevedo (Ramse), Emily Hampshire (Jennifer Goines), Barbara Sukowa (Katarina Jones) and Todd Stashwick (Deacon).
