The Learning Disabilities Association of New Jersey (LDANJ) will hold the Life Beyond High School Transition Conference & Expo from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 13 at the NJHA Conference & Event Center, 760 Alexander Road, Princeton.
The conference will offer a variety of workshops for parents, students and professionals related to preparing students with learning disabilities, attention issues and/or related disorders for the transition to life after high school.
Topics will include the difference between high school and college/work, the gap year, coaching, how to find the right college, transition IEPs, learning the soft skills, resilience and more.
The keynote address will be by LeDerick Horne, a poet, advocate, motivational speaker and co-author of “Empowering Students with Hidden Disabilites-A Path to Pride and Success.”
There will also be a vendor expo to provide additional information and resources.
Breakfast and lunch are provided.
The cost is $25 for students, $50 for LDA members or $75 for non-members. Walk ins are welcome as space permits.
