The East Brunswick Library will hold a doubleheader of “Star Wars”-themed programs to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the movies beginning at noon on May 13 at the library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center Dr., East Brunswick.
Author Jason Fry, who has written more than 40 books chronicling the “Star Wars” saga, will present “The Secrets of Star Wars” at noon, which is designed for children ages 6 and up. He will discuss the various “Star Wars” children’s books he has written, as well as his secrets for turning ideas and experiences into stories. He will also talk about his book series “Jupiter Pirates.”
Fry’s second presentation, “The Inside Scoop on Writing Star Wars,” starts at 2 p.m. and gives an inside look into writing “Star Wars,” from keeping secrets about the galaxy far, far away to filling in the details of creator George Lucas’s cinematic vision.
Following both programs, copies of Fry’s books will be available for purchase and signing. Throughout the day, a “Star Wars” trivia challenge with prizes will take place.
This program is part of the library’s 50th anniversary program series and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
