Cheers to Jimmy Kimmel
for delivering the father of all monologues. Opening his May 1 show, the late-night host tearfully recounted his newborn’s terrifying health scare and raved about the medical staff (by name!) who saved the little guy’s life. If it didn’t touch your heart, you should probably contact them.
Cheers to Dear White People
for being a class act. Smart, confident and blessed with a stellar ensemble led by Logan Browning (pictured) and Brandon P. Bell, Netflix’s college dramedy is a lesson in how issues of identity and race relations are far from black and white.
Jeers to Phaedra Parks
for being a phony. Good thing she’s a licensed funeral director, because we just about died when the Real Housewives of Atlanta pot-stirrer was finally exposed as the liar who fed Porsha all that false information about Kandi.
Jeers to the networks
for not airing the Daytime Emmys. With The Bold and the Beautiful (including Scott Clifton, pictured, for Best Actor), and General Hospital making CBS and ABC big winners, would it kill one of them to save the show from being streamed online only?
