Monroe is expanding its recycling program, adding paint and cooking oil to its list of collectibles.
The township offers a paint dropoff site from 8-11:30 a.m. every third Saturday of the month at the municipal Recycling Center, 76 Gravel Hill-Spotswood Road.
Officials also launched a cooking oil recycling pilot program April 1, issuing containers to interested residents who collect and then drop off during the center’s weekday collection hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oil that solidifies, such as shortening, coconut oil and lard, are not accepted.
