Despite the best efforts of speedway officials, track crew members and safety crews, persistent light showers finally won out and forced Wall Stadium Speedway to rain out the scheduled stock car racing events set for June 17. At one point the track was completely dry and racers participated in a brief practice session before showers returned just before the first green flag to wash out the action.
Fans who attended are reminded that their rain checks will be honored for any event on the 2017 schedule. In the event that fans decide to use their rain checks for a special event, they will only need to pay the difference in admission price to upgrade their ticket.
Racing returns June 24 with the 56th running of the Garden State Classic. Freehold Ford Modifieds are scheduled to take center stage in a 125-lapper, while the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks, Surfside Collision 4-Cylinder Stocks and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend cars are all set for 25-lap main events.
The schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m., with main events to follow.
