If you have ever wanted to jump in the lake for a swim – Peddie Lake, that is – you’ll have your chance.
That’s because an open swim in Peddie Lake is one of the featured activities on Fun Friday in Hightstown.
Fun Friday, sponsored by the Hightstown Parks and Recreation Commission, will be held once a month in June, July, August and September in Memorial Park. The park is next to the Tavern on the Lake.
Fun Friday will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 23, July 21, Aug. 25 and Sept. 8. Open swim in Peddie Lake will be held on June 23, Aug. 25 and Sept. 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Fun Friday showcases an assortment of vendors and farms, plus live entertainment. It’s a perfect night to bring a picnic supper or to grab a bite to eat from one of the many restaurants in Hightstown.
There will be live entertainment on each Fun Friday. The local dance company, A Place to Dance, will perform at each Fun Friday from 6 to 6:15 p.m.
The Pennington Station Band will play on June 23 and again on Sept. 8. In between those dates, Kyler St. Phard will perform on July 21 and Claire Ernst and Connor Ernst will play on Aug. 25.
Among the vendors who will appear at Fun Friday are Glitter Hoops, Arbonne, Rodan and Fields, Lularoe, Princeton Health and Wellness, Princeton Scoops and Mother Tree Collective.
The food vendors include Candy Clouded Sweet Treats and Hawaiian Organic Shaved Ice.
And in keeping with Fun Friday’s origins in the Hightstown Farmers Market, Abe’s Acre Farms, Corner Copia and Cox Corner Market will be on hand.
Fun Friday evolved from the Hightstown Farmers Market. The goal is to bring people from the community together to support local farmers, vendors, crafters and entertainers.
